Artist Notes: This piece was influenced by the bus an subway advertising traveling around NYC for the Bodies exhibit at the South Street Seaport and the layering technique of NJ artist Jordan Eagles who works with blood and resin to build deep translucent shades of red. I had also been doing a lot of anatomy and figure studies at work for use in my tattoo designs. It all came together in my mind while I was sitting one morning in City Hall Park downtown. I was watching a few finches fighting each other for some breadcrumbs. It was about time for me to get up an leave so I could be on time for my train, but the birds antics made me decided to stay just a few moments longer. Not 30 seconds later I heard tires screeching and a collision just outside the park gate where I may have been walking. It got me thinking how tiny, seemingly insignificant things or actions can possibly raticaly alter the course of your life.
